Click Energy NI announces 12 new jobs and expansion plans

Click Energy NI has just announced plans for 12 new jobs as part of a £371,500 investment that includes expanding its sales into the Republic of Ireland.

The jobs were announced by the Economy Minister, Simon Hamilton at an event which took place at the Timber Quay office development in Derry / L’Derry where Click Energy NI is based.

The new jobs are being created with support from Invest NI and will be in a variety of roles including customer service, administration and sales positions. Invest NI has offered £48,000 to support the recruitment of six of the new roles and six of the 12 new positions are already in place.

Commenting on the company’s continued growth, Founder and Managing Director of Click Energy NI, Damian Wilson comments:

“After a successful first year in business, we are thrilled to announce a further 12 new jobs at Click Energy NI. The continual steady growth of the company is testament to the fact that people in Northern Ireland are ready for something different from their electricity providers.

“Click Energy offers customers not just choice when selecting an electricity provider, but transparency on billing and we’re proud to deliver the lowest standard rate of electricity in Northern Ireland with no introductory discounts that entice new customers in but are over within three to six months!”

This latest news marks a further milestone for Click Energy NI since its launch in October 2015 when 20 new jobs were created.

Since its launch, the number of employees at Click Energy NI has grown to 46 including an off-site sales team and when all 12 of the new positions are filled it will bring the total number of employees to 52 by January 2017.

Click Energy has ambitious growth plans and will be entering the Irish market within the next few months. Speaking on Click Energy’s expansion plans, Mr Wilson adds: “Click Energy has big plans for the future, including expanding our offering and growing our customer base in the Irish market.

“In year 1, our customer numbers surpassed 12,000 and by the end of 2017 our goal is to have 25,000 Click Energy customers. There’s a huge opportunity for us to grow both across NI and in ROI, as our pricing model, combined with transparent billing and exceptional customer service has really resonated with customers.”

Welcoming the investment, Invest NI's North West Regional Manager, Des Gartland, said: “Click Energy’s expansion is good news for the area and signals the company’s continued commitment to growth. The business is creating valuable employment opportunities which is making a positive contribution to the region.”
